Week 7 Portfolio

Week 7 Portfolio

Genre: macroPhotography/Creative fine Art/Fine Art

Idea:

My idea is still the same, i want to chose images that show a connection between Humans and Earth and how even though we all were completly different theres still a connection in the detail from our skin and other parts.

I spent most of week 7 and 6 narrowing down my final images for print, I printed off my group of finals on the normal printer and taped them to the wall, I experimented with the different ways to hang the images (portrait or Horizontal), I also turned some around to make the images look more mysterious and a odd way of viewing the body part compared to how you'd normally view it. I Also decided what order to hang the images in and how the order of the images is going to effect the flow of the images.

Unfortunately i forgot to take photos of my experimentation with the hanging and the way they were going to be viewed. But will try to get some kind of proof that i was experimenting.

When i print my final images im going to have a big canvas around the image so it can add to the idea that it's still MacroPhotography.

Preparing the images:

For this image i didn't do much except what you can see. i upped the vibrance so that the flower didn't look dull against the matte paper and bought up the contrast to match the pair (FINGERTIPS)

For this image i also bought up the viberance so that it didn't look dull against the matte paper. I wanted to make sure this image had the same colour tones as its pair; the wrist.

I had a little trouble with the skin images, I wanted them to be vibrant but not unnatural looking. This image had quite a bit of contrasting already so i only lowered it slightly so that it would be similar to its pairing; the flower petals. I brightened the highlight so that it would stand out a little on the matte paper..

This skin one was a little easier cause it already was well lit. All i really did was up the contrast and brightened the greens slightly so that it would have the same colour tones as it pair; The leaf.

I had to play around with the skin colour in this image by using the adjustment brush to try and find  a natural skin tone which would still stand out on the matte paper. I brightened the highlights cause i wanted them to stand out as well when they were printed onto the mate paper.

This image's quality wasnt as good as the others so i didnt want to play with its settings to much so all i wanted to do was up the vibrance and saturation so that it had similar colour tones and highlights with its pair; The hand.

Sending off to printer

This image out of 3 was me experimenting with the canvas size around the image its self. This one was the one i chose in the end cause it wasn't too wide or too narrow. This image in a whole came out as 35cm across and a hight of 45cm.

This image is with a wider canvas, making the image almost square, I think the image as a whole was 40cm by 45cm in hight. I didnt like this canvas size.

I then experimented with a more Narrow canvas size, I think this one was 25cm by 45cm. I dont mind this ones shape but i found it a lil too narrow for my liking.

This is the final layout on the sheet, i chose a big canvas cause some of my images didnt look nice blown up and lost detail which was one of the thing i was looking for so i had help and we decided to put a big canvas around the image cause then it gives the idea of MacroPhotography.
