Week 2 Portfolio

Plan For First Photoshoot

For my first photoshoot i wanted to use motion blurred portraiture, to create a etheral and ghostly look. I used mt younger sister and and dresses her in a white dress because i wanted her to stand out against the dark backdrop. I wanted to use a low light setup to create that creepy atmosphere.

Inspiration

I took inspiration from the artist Natalie Dybisz and her images. I also used Pinterest to get insperation.

My Photos

F/ 7.1  Shutter: 1.6 ISO: 100

This photo was a test of which shutter speed to use, i found this shutter speed was a bit to fast for my liking. The colour was good cause its the colour i wanted to achieve.

F/8.0  Shutter: 2.5  ISO: 100

This photo's shutter speed was a bit longer so created a really fuzzy and almost transparent image, This shutter speed was good for some images but it also depended on how fast my model was moving. Once again the colour is there.

F/8.0  Shutter: 2.5  ISO: 100

This photo used the same shutter speed as above but she moved slower, making this photo look more focuses but still ghostly.

F/6.3 Shutter: 0.5  ISO:100

Photo 1 of 5 is with a inbetween shutter speed of 0.5, i love how these came out cause they still have detail but look abstract. These 5 shots were made by my model jumping off a chair and posing and are some of my favorites.

F/6.3 Shutter: 0.5  ISO:100

Photo 2 of 5 is with the same shutter speed of 0.5 and she's still jumping off the chair, i like this one cause f her hand position and the shape her body creates.

F/6.3 Shutter: 0.5  ISO:100

Photo 3 out of 5 is my model doing a running start and jumping in the air, i used the same shutter speed of 0.5.

F/6.3 Shutter: 0.5  ISO:100

Photo 4 out of 5 is another running jump one, My model  spun her legs out as well. I really like using the shutter speed of 0.5 cause it was the perfect speed.

F/6.3 Shutter: 0.5  ISO:100

Photo 5 out of 5 is a chair one, but when she landed  got her to run off which added that little more creepiness to it. I continued to use the shutter speed of 0.5.

f/ 8.0  Shutter: 2.0  ISO100

This photo was a play on just spinning with her arms out, I used the slower shutter speed just to test the effects. The result depended on how fast she moved.

f/ 8.0  Shutter: 2.0  ISO100

This photo i tried a red gel over the light to experiment with getting some colour in the photos, This one didnt turn out as well as i hoped because it's too dark but i still like the silhouette it created.

f/ 8.0  Shutter: 2.0  ISO100

This photo was also a test with the red gel over the light, but i turned on another light and shone it towards the back to lighten up the red. This is another photo i really liked and i think i like it cause its landscape instead of portrait. I used the same shutter speed of 2.0.

f/ 8.0  Shutter: 2.0  ISO100

This photo was also a favorite in the end, i wanted there to be a mixture of close crops and far crops while still keeping the ghostly look. This time i experimented with a blue gel just for a little bit of colour and i loved the way it turned out cause it looks almost 3D.
