Retouching in photoshop.

- Removing blemishes with healing brush

I created a new layer and named it blemishes, I used the spot healing brush to remove any blemishes from her face and some fly-away hairs.

- Smoothing skin

I duplicated the background layer  and named it soften skin, I had to open the filters panel and opened it into camera RAW. I decreased the clarity of the photo to smooth her skin but i only wanted her skin to be soft so back in photoshop i clicked on the layer mask and inverted the mask so the image went back to normal, I used the white brush and painted back over her face to bring back the low clarity.

- Teeth Whitening

I copied the layer background  and named it teeth and eyes. I used the lasso tool to loosely selected the area around her teeth, then made a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. In the colour range drop box i chose yellow and decreased the saturation until the teeth looked whiter and used the patch tool to remove the blemishes from her teeth.

- Eye Brightening 1

I stayed on the background layer and selected the whites of her eyes and went to the mask properties and feathered the outlines of the eyes so that it looked softer. I went to the photoshop menu and saved the selection of the eyes and then made a new Hue/Saturation layer, i left the colour range drop box on master and decreased the saturation to remove any odd clolours that were in the whites of her eyes.

- Eye Brightening 2

I reloaded the eye selection and added a curves adjustment layer, i then increased the curves slightly to brighten the whites of her eyes.

- Eye Brightening 3

I first created a new layer  and changed the blend mode to overlay. I used the brush tool and decreased its opacity to 40% and used the black brush to paint around the iris. I then used the white brush to paint around the pupil and went back to the layers panel and reduced the layer opacity unti the eyes look naturally bright.
